Participation in the Erasmus+ HWCA Hybrid Expert Meeting

On November 18-20, 2024, representatives of the Turkmen Agricultural Institute participated in the Erasmus+ HWCA Hybrid Expert Meeting held at the DKU in Almaty. The event, organized within the framework of the Erasmus+ HWCA project, brought together scientists and experts from higher education institutions in Central Asia and the European Union to discuss issues of coordinated water resources management, water diplomacy, curriculum development, and regional cooperation.

Two lecturers from our institute, Shatlyk Pygamov, lecturer of the Department of Agricultural Reclamation, and Serdar Muminov, lecturer of the Department of Animal Husbandry, participated in this event. They actively participated in discussions aimed at improving educational and professional programs at this online event.

The main objectives of the conference were to review and update the master’s programs in water diplomacy, establish cooperation with state and educational institutions, as well as industry representatives, to adapt the programs to regional needs, identify common priority scientific areas in water diplomacy, promote cooperation between universities in Central Asia and the European Union, discuss regional initiatives for continuous professional development and capacity building in water-related fields, and exchange experiences in disseminating project results.

The participation of the Turkmen Agricultural Institute demonstrated our commitment to developing regional cooperation on the issue of integrated water resources management. The knowledge gained during the conference, especially in terms of modernizing curricula and engaging with stakeholders, will make a significant contribution to the development of educational strategies and the development of multidisciplinary knowledge in the field of integrated water resources management.

The Erasmus+ HWCA conference demonstrated the potential of international cooperation aimed at solving global problems such as integrated water resources management. Our representatives will continue to apply this valuable experience in the education system and scientific initiatives of our institute, making a significant contribution to the sustainable development of the region.
