Turkmen agricultural institute hosted an international scientific and practical online conference “The role of biotechnology in the sustainable development of the agricultural sector”

In the Revival of a new epoch of the Powerful state, as the result of efforts of our Hero Arkadag, our Arkadagly Hero Serdar to develop the agriculture of the country on a scientific basis, to improve further the scientific and educational system, large-scale work is being carried out. All necessary opportunities are being created for the sustainable development of the agricultural sector, to improve the scientific and educational skills of highly educated youth in the future. Based on these opportunities, in the year of “The Fount of the Mind of Magtymguly Fragi”, on December 19, 2024, an international scientific and practical conference was held at the Turkmen Agricultural Institute via the digital system entitled “The role of biotechnology in the sustainable development of the agricultural sector”.

As part of the scientific and practical conference, an exhibition of research works in the field of agro-industrial complex was organized at the Turkmen Agricultural Institute.

Representatives of 84 higher education institutions and research centers from 14 countries took part in the international scientific and practical conference, which was held in a digital format. At the general meeting of the conference, the rector of the Turkmen Agricultural Institute D.Yolov made a welcoming speech. Then, representatives from the Russian Federation, the Republics of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan made impressive presentations via the digital system on the role of biotechnology in the sustainable development of the agricultural sector.

The international scientific and practical conference was continued its work in five sections. Section 1 - “Genetic engineering and crop improvement”, Section 2 - “Biotechnology in animal husbandry”, Section 3 “Biopesticides and biofertilizers”, Section 4 - “Bioremediation and environmental sustainability”, Section 5 - “Education and capacity building in biotechnology for agriculture”. A total of 260 reports were heard, and the most outstanding of them were highlighted at the closing session of the international scientific and practical conference.

International conferences in the agricultural sector are of great importance for the development of agriculture in our country on a scientific basis, further strengthening scientific and educational cooperation between countries of the world, and strengthening the bonds of friendship and brotherhood between peoples.
