A Scientific and Creative Conference Held

In the early days of the new year 2025, designated as the “International Year of Peace and Trust”, a scientific and creative conference was held on January 10 at the Turkmen Agricultural Institute. The conference, titled “Nurmuhammet Andalib – the Founder of the Epic Poetic Tradition” was dedicated to the life and works of the prominent classic poet of Turkmen literature, Nurmuhammet Andalib.

The conference brought together notable participants, including Dedebay Nartyyev, director and program organizer at the Dashoguz velayat Television and Radio Studio and a poet; Gurban Gurbanov, a correspondent for the newspaper “Dashoguz News” and a poet; as well as faculty members of the Institute’s Department of Social Sciences: Ayjeren Tagandurdiyeva, Hurmagul Yuldasheva, Shatlyk Hudayberdiyev, and Miwe Nuriyeva.

In their speeches, the participants provided a detailed account of Nurmuhammet Andalib’s life and his multifaceted literary contributions. Particular attention was given to the thematic depth of his poems, the ideas conveyed in the epics “Yusup and Zuleyha” and “Leyli and Mejnun,” as well as the historical significance of the poems “Oguznama” and “Nesimi.” The presentations sparked great interest among students, allowing them to gain a deeper understanding of Andalib’s significance as an outstanding poet who advanced such literary traditions as epic poetry and composing acrostics.

As part of the event, the creative ensemble of the Institute, “Bagtyýarlyk Joşguny,” performed inspiring poems and folk songs. The program also featured patriotic songs praising the homeland, adding a festive spirit to the occasion.

Participants expressed heartfelt gratitude to Hero-Arkadag and Arkadagly Hero Serdar for their remarkable efforts in studying and promoting Turkmenistan’s literary heritage on the global stage.
