Through the efforts of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Hero Arkadag, and our Esteemed President, Hero Arkadagly Serdar, broad opportunities for studying the history, culture, art and science of the Turkmen people are being created in our country.
Looking back at our history, in the past the Turkmen people created dozens of states. In most of these countries, along with the economy, culture and art, science also developed rapidly. This is evidenced by the creation of the Mamun Academy in Urgench, the capital of Khorezm, in the X-XI centuries, as well as the presence of dozens of libraries in Urgench and Merv. Dozens of outstanding scientists lived in these countries and left us their remarkable works. Their scientific works were very diverse, among them there were many works related to chemistry, alchemy and iatrochemistry. One of the sacred duties of the educators is to study the legacy of these scientists and disseminate it among young people. For this purpose, on March 25, 2025, among the higher education institutions of Turkmenistan, the Department of Agrochemistry and Soil Science of the Turkmen Agricultural Institute held an online scientific and practical conference “Chemical views of the great thinkers of the east”. The online scientific and practical conference was attended by teachers and students of the Turkmen State University named after Magtymguly, International University of Oil and Gas named after Yagshygeldi Kakayev, Turkmen Agricultural University named after S.A. Niyazov, Turkmen State Pedagogical Institute named after Seyitnazar Seydi, Turkmen State Institute of Architecture and construction, the Institute of Engineering-Technical and Transport Communications of Turkmenistan and Turkmen Agricultural Institute. The great Eastern thinkers Abu Rayhan Muhammad ibn Ahmed al-Biruni, Abu Ali Hussein ibn Abdullah ibn Sina and Abu Bakr Muhammad ar-Razi’s works on alchemy, minerals, metals and pharmaceuticals and the works of the great poet of the Turkmen people, Magtymguly Fragi, about the chemical terms and concepts which was found in his poems in the literal and figurative sense and the poet’s skillful use of these chemical terms were discussed in detail in the meeting. At the end of the meeting, an exchange of opinions on the presentations took place. The conference participants noted that the organized scientific and practical online conference turned out to be very useful for teachers and students. Let the life and work of the National Leader of the Turkmen people Hero Arkadag and our Honorary President Hero Arkadagly Serdar, who deeply care about the development of the country’s education system and create broad opportunities for the introduction of a digital system in education, prosper.
