The Council of Young Scientists of the Turkmen Agricultural Institute organized the scientific seminar “The role of horticulture in ensuring sustainable agriculture” by the scientific club “Young Gardener” on the occasion of World Earth Day. The seminar was attended by experienced gardeners of our velayat and students and teachers of our institute. At the beginning, experiences and solutions were studied in the development of horticulture in the soil and weather conditions of the region, innovative solutions for protecting orchards from pests.
Bayramdurdy Gurbanov, master gardener of Akdepe etrap scientific and productive experimental farm for orchard cultivation in Dashoguz Velayat, Soltyev Orazdurdy, resident of Shabat etrap, gave effective talks to the students about the cultivation of orchards, pruning, and the features of quick growing of seedlings.
In this impressive meeting, students exchanged ideas with gardeners and their interesting questions about horticulture. The gardeners demonstrated the process of propagation of fruit orchards on young fruit orchard seedlings grown at the training ground of the institute. This created a great interest in students and had the effect of strengthening the knowledge gained in theoretical practice.
At the end of the meeting, the students expressed their gratitude to the experienced gardeners of our province for the effective meeting.
