Scientific Department
At the Turkmen Agricultural Institute, research work is carried out in priority and important areas of agriculture with the participation of experienced faculty and talented young students. This work aims to fulfill the tasks arising from the State Programs of the President of Turkmenistan for increasing the effectiveness of scientific research and innovative technologies.
Scientific Department
The main objective of the Scientific Department is to organize scientific research, project, and innovation activities in accordance with state and national programs, as well as other regulatory legal acts related to the development of science in Turkmenistan, and in coordination with the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan and plans approved by the institute’s rector.
The Scientific Department performs the following tasks:
- Approving annual plans for scientific research of departments, scientific centers, technology parks, and other university units, and monitoring their implementation, in accordance with the Regulation "On Conducting Scientific Research in Higher Education Institutions of Turkmenistan," approved by the joint order of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan No. 13 and the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan No. 43 of February 14, 2022.
- Controlling the execution of scientific research and departmental plans, as well as developing and coordinating the scientific activities of faculty members, in accordance with the Regulation "On Compiling the Individual Work Plan of a Higher Education Institution Lecturer," approved by Order of the Minister of Education of Turkmenistan No. 12 of January 17, 2022.
- Coordinating work on monitoring the scientific and pedagogical staff, departments, and faculties, in accordance with the Regulation "On the Rating Assessment of Pedagogical Workers of Higher Education Institutions of Turkmenistan," approved by Order of the Minister of Education of Turkmenistan No. 262 of August 14, 2024.
- Organizing scientific research in departments, scientific centers, technology parks, and other units of the institute in accordance with the priority areas of science and technologies in Turkmenistan.
- Participating in concluding contracts with enterprises, institutions, and organizations to carry out scientific research on an economic basis.
- Assisting in conducting student scientific research under the guidance of professors and lecturers in departments, in accordance with the priority areas of science and technologies in Turkmenistan.
- Expanding cooperation with scientific institutions, centers, and higher education institutions both domestically and abroad, to jointly develop scientific and scientific-technical products, and enhancing the effectiveness of this collaboration.
- Carrying out scientific-methodological, scientific-practical conferences, exhibitions, scientific seminars, and other scientific events.
- Organizing and conducting competitions for scientific works among students, young scientists, and postgraduates.
- Assisting in preparing for publication and issuing summaries of reports (theses) from scientific and practical conferences and collections of scientific articles.
- Establishing active participation of students, young scientists, and postgraduates in scientific, project, and creative competitions held at the state level.
- Organizing the work of student scientific circles under the guidance of the professorial and teaching staff.
- Facilitating the work on patenting and licensing scientific and technical achievements, and the registration of inventions and innovative proposals.
- Assisting in the publication of scientific articles by students, postgraduates, and faculty members in internationally indexed scientific journals.
- Implementing the results of scientific research and project work into production, as well as into educational programs and plans.
- Preparing periodic and annual reports on scientific work at the institute level, as well as reports on the department’s operations.
- Studying and exchanging experience with leading higher education institutions on the development of higher education and scientific activities within the framework of international cooperation.
- Preparing proposals to increase the effectiveness of scientific work.
- Performing other tasks within its official powers that correspond to the objectives and goals carried out by the institute.
Technology Transfer.
The Technology Transfer Center operates at the Turkmen Agricultural Institute. The Centre commercializes research and project work, manages intellectual property in the interests of teachers and students at the Institute, ensures technology transfer (commercialization), and provides consulting, scientific, technical, and educational services in the innovative sphere.
The scientific and pedagogical staff of the Turkmen Agricultural Institute has received 11 limited patents and 6 copyright objects registered with the State Intellectual Property Service under the Ministry of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan.
International Cooperation.
Memoranda of Cooperation are in effect between the Turkmen Agricultural Institute and the following universities:
- Tashkent State Agrarian University (Republic of Uzbekistan);
- Samarkand State University of Veterinary Medicine, Livestock and Biotechnologies (Republic of Uzbekistan).
Within this cooperation framework, the faculty of these higher education institutions and our Institute organize online training and participate in international scientific events.
