An online lesson on monitoring agricultural land was held

In the era of the Revival of a new epoch of a powerful state, targeted work is being carried out in the country’s agricultural sector to increase land fertility, efficient use of land, introduce world experience and the latest achievements of science, advanced technology and technology, create food abundance, and transition to a digital management system. On September 24, 2024, Lecturer of the Department of Agricultural Land Reclamation Shatlyk Pygamov conducted an online lesson “Monitoring of agricultural lands” with the participation of professors and students of higher educational institutions of the country. During the training course, theoretical ideas were given about the monitoring of agricultural lands, its purpose and methods, and then monitoring of agricultural lands of the Educational Production Farm of the Turkmen Agricultural Institute was carried out using remote sensing methods and geographic information systems. During the course, farmland was assessed using satellite imagery using QGIS software and the resulting data was plotted on a map.

During the course, participants discussed the importance of digitalization of the agricultural sector, implementation of software and conducting spectral surveys of agricultural land.
