A master class was held at the S. Rozmetov Agricultural Joint-Stock Company’s Experimental Farm in the Dashoguz Velayat to increase students’ interest in science by organizing meetings with renowned, experienced agronomists in cotton growing and agriculture, as well as to integrate the students’ acquired knowledge with production and share the agronomists’ experience through mentoring.
The master class was attended by active members of the Turkmen Agricultural Institute’s scientific clubs, students, and Kadabay Sultanov, Director of the S. Rozmetov Agricultural Joint-Stock Company’s Experimental Farm.
K. Sultanov, Director of the Experimental Farm, first briefly introduced the students to the scientific work and production activities. Of the farm then gave an engaging lecture on cotton growing worldwide and in Russia, as well as the ongoing efforts to improve cotton breeding. The students exchanged views on topics of interest with the experienced specialist. K. Sultanov gave the students a hands-on demonstration of the method of harvesting raw cotton in the cotton field. The experienced agricultural worker described the farm’s advanced cotton growing methods, new cultivation technologies, and the types of fertilizers and chemicals used. He also noted that all cotton grown on the farm meets crop requirements and is suitable for harvesting with modern equipment, and is a leader in quality and yield. K. Sultanov shared his experience in achieving high standards in cotton growing with the students.
At the end of the workshop, a summary was given. K. Sultanov answered questions posed during the workshop. The students noted that they had received a great deal of valuable and interesting information during the workshop. Gurbanjemal Abdieva, head of the “Innovative Agronomy” student research group, summed up the workshop. She sincerely congratulated the students who took part in the master class and Kadambay Sultanov, director of the selection and experimental farm of the S. Rozmetov Agricultural Joint-Stock Company, on World Cotton Day.
