In the Revival of a new era of the Powerful state, thanks to the exemplary efforts of our Hero Arkadag and Arkadagly Hero Serdar, extensive work is being carried out to develop agriculture of our country on a scientific basis and further improve the system of science and education. All necessary opportunities are being created for the sustainable development of the agricultural sector and for enhancing the knowledge and professional skills of the highly educated youth of the future. Based on these opportunities, during the “International Year of Peace and Trust,” specifically on December 17, 2025, the Turkmen Agricultural Institute held the II International Scientific and Practical Online Conference titled “The Role of Biotechnology in the Sustainable Development of the Agricultural Sector.”
The international scientific and practical online conference was attended by representatives from 88 higher educational institutions and research centers across 14 countries. At the plenary session, the Rector of the Turkmen Agricultural Institute, D. Yolov, delivered an opening welcoming speech. Following this, representatives from the Republics of Belarus, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Armenia, and India, as well as the Russian Federation, Georgia, and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, delivered insightful digital presentations on the role of biotechnology in the sustainable development of the agricultural sector.
Within the framework of the conference, an exhibition of research projects in the field of the agro-industrial complex was organized at the Turkmen Agricultural Institute.
The international scientific and practical conference continued its work in three sections: Section 1: “Genetics and innovations in agrobiotechnologies”; Section 2: “Bioresources, bioremediation, and sustainability”; Section 3: “Education and capacity building in the agro-industrial complex.” A total of 260 reports were presented, and the most distinguished ones were highlighted during the closing session of the conference.
International conferences in the agricultural sector are of great importance for the scientific development of our country’s agriculture, the further strengthening of scientific and educational cooperation between the countries of the world, and the reinforcement of the bonds of friendship and brotherhood between nations.
