An important scientific meeting on environmental protection was held

At the Turkmen Agricultural Institute, regular activities are organized to ensure the active participation of students in preventing soil salinization, maintaining soil fertility, and promoting the sustainable development of agriculture. To enable students to comprehensively study the geology of agricultural land, expand their scientific worldview, and enhance their knowledge in this area, lectures and meetings are held consistently.

To achieve these goals and to increase the effectiveness of practical field work for the institute’s students and active members of the UNESCO Club “Environmental Protection - An Important Concept of Sustainable Development”, scientific and practical training sessions and events were organized and held smoothly from September 17 to 19, 2026.

As part of the events, Anatoly Grigoryevich Bushmakin, a specialist from the Science Department of Magtymguly Turkmen State University and Candidate of Geological and Mineralogical Sciences, paid a working visit to our institute and delivered insightful lectures for the students. Students and faculty members received valuable information regarding the latest achievements in geological and mineralogical sciences, soil composition, and the scientific foundations of sustainable agriculture.

During the sessions, the scientist also met with the faculty members of our institute to exchange views on developing agricultural sciences, sustainably utilizing land resources, and conducting joint scientific research. Anatoly Bushmakin visited the institute’s museum, where he thoroughly explored the exhibits as well as the rich history and natural features of the region.

He held a warm and meaningful conversation with the student members of the UNESCO Club “Environmental Protection - An Important Concept of Sustainable Development”. During the interaction, students received answers to their questions and listened to useful advice regarding future research activities.

These held events were of great significance in enriching the students’ practical knowledge and nurturing a sense of environmental responsibility toward the natural world.
