CONSULTING TRAINING WITH AGRICULTURAL INSTITUTIONS AND ENTERPRISES OF DASHOGUZ VELAYAT

Based on the instructions of the President of Turkmenistan on conducting agriculture on a scientific basis, further expanding information and consulting services, as well as the tasks set by the United Nations to achieve sustainable development goals in Turkmenistan, experienced professors and teachers of the Turkmen Agricultural Institute organized advisory trainings with agricultural specialists of institutions of Dashoguz velayat. These courses were conducted in such areas as “GIS and its capabilities”, “Innovative technologies in agriculture”, “Digital economy”, “Digital technologies in agricultural mechanization”, “Innovative technologies in veterinary medicine”.

The training “GIS and its capabilities” was attended by specialists from the Dashoguz velayat department of land resources, the production association “Dashoguzsuvkhodzhalyk”, the Dashoguz land-building research expedition, and the Dashoguz agrochemical laboratory. The training was held at the “Shabatsuvkhodzhalyk” production enterprise of the “Dashoguzsukhodzhalyk” production association. During the course, the concepts of GIS technology, its origin, modern conditions, achievements and significance in agriculture were discussed in detail. During the training, practical classes were organized on drawing up a visualized salinity map of agricultural fields in the QGIS program based on data obtained from agricultural fields using the TDR-350 device, monitoring agricultural fields and using digital technologies in land planning.

The training seminar “Innovative Technologies in Agriculture” was attended by specialists from the administration Hakimlik of Dashoguz velayat, the production association “Dashoguzgallaonumleri”, the Dashoguz velayat forestry, and the Dashoguz velayat department of plant protection service. Within the framework of the topic “Scientific foundations of wheat breeding”, the features of the selection of high-yielding varieties of winter wheat that are resistant to drought and soil salinity, and the conduct of scientific research on the selection of new varieties of winter wheat were noted. On the topic “Diseases of orchards,” diseases of orchards and the features of measures to combat them were covered. On the topic “Pests of grain crops and measures to combat them”, the current research work on the control of rodents and sucking pests of winter wheat, millet, corn, Sudan grass and other grain crops grown in the country was discussed.

The conducted advisory trainings will be a great contribution to the implementation of the tasks set by the United Nations to achieve sustainable development goals by promoting the development of agriculture, which is considered one of the main directions of the country's economy, and implementing continuous reforms in this area.
